Named after Uganda's first Catholic martyr, the ensemble draws upon deep spiritual and cultural roots, reflecting the rich heritage of the Mitala-Maria parish, a community established in 1899 by the White Fathers. Through disciplined training, the choir has mastered a blend of gospel, kadongo-kamu, and traditional Ugandan music, elevating their performances to national stature. Known for their songs “Ntambula Ngaludde” and “Kyenina,” St Balikuddembe Mitala Maria has performed at prestigious venues such as the State House and has been featured on radio stations like CBS FM.
